Default Another 84 crossfire question

From what I understand a stock non ported X-fire system flows about 570 cfm So why wouldn't you be able to install it on a crate engine like the BLUEPRINT 355 CI with these specs for the top. it is advertised 310 hp and 360lbs tq. I know you wont get those results but.....

Cylinder Heads:
Blueprint premium center bolt cast iron
Hardened retainers and valve springs
2.02'' swirl polished intake valves
1.60'' swirl polished exhaust valves

Camshaft Specs:
Hydraulic Flat Tappet
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 229 Intake / 230 Exhaust
Lift: .480'' Intake / .486'' Exhaust

You will need to port the intake AND swap in another ECU....

I do have a stock and a ported. my TBs are stock and I have orig. ECM. I guess my question is more general or maybe out of curiosity . that engine if u buy it dressed comes equipped with a 600 cfm carb on it . the xfire will flow 570cfm so that's only a 30cfm difference. What am I missing?

Intake flow vs intake flow. What does your ported intake flow? Is it just port matched or a full port job?
Tuning of the intake for cam. May be possible to adjust fuel psiand spark for new can but what guarantees do you have that it would work

I guess my ignorance is in how the ECM controls spark. Because if the stock non ported manifold flows only 30 cfm less than the carb that Blueprint suggests to put on that particular engine how does the cam know if its coming from throttle bodies or a carb? I don't mean to beat a dead horse. just trying to learn .

Carbs or venturi's are rated by vacuum or pressure drop. I recall I read that using differing inch mercury provides differing flow #'s. I dont think a CFI rated at same flow as a carb is equal to a carb. The CFI one barrel flow less due to how thay are rated. Many years back that was explained on the CF forum. A search may provide more specifics. Or possibly someone here make give a comment. ps. also the CF venturi is rated with the inj pod removed from what i read.
B4 you invest $1000's in the car you own( I did) think of instead converting to a port mod injection system powered by EBL. I think the rewards are there. I run a Holley projection manifold with 7.4L TBI unit. I should have gone PF day one!

Those intakes have a huge plenum they need more. Carbed much smaller plenum needs less.
Thats why you may see a tunnel ram with 2 large carbs. not that the heads/etc needs it so much, more the intake. hard to explain
