Hi guys can you tell me please does the coolant on my 84 vette engine flow from the inlet manifold through the heater matrix to the water pump or from the water pump through the heater matrix then to the manifold ??? Many thanks

The port on the pump is the return (suction ).
Coolant is hottest at intake manifold adjacent the thermostat
