Just do the pump, and do it yourself. Takes less than an hour with basic skills.

I changed the fuel pump in my '85 in less than 45 minutes and I'd never done it before. It's so straight forward you almost will kick yourself for psyching yourself up for a big job.

The fuel pump is an easy fix (as Vette things go). It's a DIY, just don't light up while you're doing it.

I saw a write-up that recommended the wiring upgrade with the Walbor pump. Also a DIY, but it will take a little longer.

DIY then spend the savings on

What write up was that? I would like to read it.

I agree with everone here, the fuel pump install is probably one of the easier mechanical parts to replace on the car. As said before don't light up while doing it and also make sure you disconnect your battery.

Do it yourself. It's not difficult at all. It took about a hour or so to do the complete job on my '85. Just be cautions about having anything around that might create a spark and disconnect your battery. :chevy

Buy a pump and pickup screen and get some vacuum nipples to keep the fuel lines from oozing.

It realy is one of the "simple hand tools" jobs on a Vette.
