84 Crossfire Now Won't Idle
This "project" car is starting to drive me nuts. I am finding all sorts of problems. The latest is my weekend project. The previous owner had the blue wire from the fan relay spliced into a orange wire that runs to the front of the car. I fixed this, and wired it back into the cut half, cleaned up some loose vac lines that went to the vac canister and plugged a leak. Went to start car and it started up just fine, and ran good for a few minutes then all of a sudden the idle started to bounce up and down and now it won't stay running, when I give it gas it wants to die, when I let it attempt to idle it dies. When I bought this it had a really high idle and I backed down the idle screw and it ran nice and even, now this. I am ready to sell this vette after just one week!!

Check the fuel pressure.

May be an issue with the IAC, If the previous owner did a lot of tweaking you may be better off trying to set everything back stock and than start trouble shooting. Someone who does not understand how the CF works can really get things screwed up.

I agree. Like suggesting a bad IAC. While it's possible that is a problem, it is far more likely (on a CFI) that the fuel pressure is low.
STEP 1: Check the fuel pressure.
Step 2: Report back.

Will do, the gas gauge is showing 1 tiny bar so I'll get some gas and then see what pressure is. I had the car on ramps to crawl underneath, could the fuel be so low it caused it to idle like this?

I guess it's possible. You've got a good plan though; get some gas in it, then check.

Guys I feel like a moron, here I was ready to sell this car because of this problem. I went today and put 5 gallons of gas in it, turned the key to get fuel to injectors, started car, and viola, it started right up and ran perfect!! Since I had it up on ramps and the fuel was already really low, it must have been sucking fumes and idling like crap. I swear I am going to have to start paying you for the help.
