Which Mobil 1 Synthetic for LT1??
95 Coupe, LT1, auto, 67K miles.
Oil change light has just come on.
Looking at Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-30, but have found there are at least 3 variations on the theme:
Full Synthetic
High Mileage Full Synthetic
Extended Performance Full Synthetic
Any reason not to plump for the Extended Performance Full Synthetic??
Thanks

Any one of the 3 would be fine. On a stock low mileage I would personally go with the extended performance. I think its only about 2 dollars more for the 5 qt container.

High Mileage Mobil 1 has seal conditioning in it, you should only use it if you have leaking seals and then you will have to keep using it until you replace every seal including valve seals or rebuild the motor, I use it in my 90 C4 with 173k+ and it dose a good job on the front and rear seal but i don't mind using it till i do a rebuild.

Use the regular Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic, it is an excellent product. If your engine is in good condition, there's no need for high mileage or EP oil.
In the owner's manual, Schedule II or "normal duty" maintenance schedule requires an oil change every 12 months or 7500 miles, whichever occurs first - Mobil 1 will easily go that far. You can spend the extra money on the high mileage or EP oil if it makes you feel better, but it's not necessary.
I won't comment on the OIL CHANGE light (engine oil life monitor) because I'm not sure if it's just a suggestion or advance warning, or if it means I must change the oil ASAP. The manual isn't clear to me or maybe I'm not reading it right. That light has never come on before I changed the oil, so it's not an issue for me.
Anyway, here's how to reset the oil life monitor:
