Default ECM and dtc16

I have encountered dtc16. Anyone have any experience with this. I have a 93 lt1. I suspect my ECM is bad.

Brand new opti. Followed procedure in manual. No reference voltage coming from ECM.

Petris enterprises. Nice unit.

Shop manual says if you are not receiving 5v reference voltage from ECM then distributor has no signal to process. Replace ECM.

I read every single post. Shop manual does not elude to bad distributor. I hate to think it could be the distributor.

So did I. He sent me 2 that kept throwing the dreaded 16 and I finally fixed it with a free one off Craigslist.

Another member here is in the process of returning another one. You will be replacing yours too.

Did your car start with code 16?

LOL They probably sent you the bad opti I just took back! sorry. I bought one 7 months ago. It went bad...they forgot to put a seal inside the unit. They sent me another...Still got a code 16. Took it back and got a full refund no questions asked. I Bought a Chandler Motorsports opti off Ebay for $110 and the code 16 went away. My car is still not reliable. I have an intermittent code 15. I believe it to be the ECM. That's a whole other story. If there's a code 16 set, then there is a problem with the opti.

I wanted to say this. You could have it fingerprinted and see if ours are on it.

Well, after much testing I've finally come to the conclusion that my Petris opti is also bad. I've done every single test both from the FSM and from Petris troubleshooting doc. I checked all grounds and even sent my ECM out for testing; it came back without defect. I hate to think that this thing has to come out again.

I hate it for you. It is no fun to swap them.
