bad misfire at 2000 RPM
Hi everyone,
I sold my '87 that I did a rolling restoration on and took the profit to purchase a '94. I can not believe the advancement in the car, it is almost a new generation.
I purchased the car from a dealer (which is a good thing). After driving it for about a week I noticed something very wrong: If I hold the rpm's at 2000 after about 3-5 seconds there is an awful misfire/stumbling, the tach goes from 1000-3000+ the oil pressure is bouncing and the car shakes pretty bad. If i step on the gas and force the rpm's up over 3000 it all stops (below 2000 it smooth) Also, at high speed/rpm's it happens again. like around 4500.
I returned it to the dealer to have it fixed. he has had it for a week and told me they have no idea what the problem is and cant fix it.
First does anyone know what this is? I was thinking opti-spark, but dont really know...
Second, if an option is to send it to a vette specialist should I? Or should I just give it back? Option 2 is harder than it sounds; they get 3 chances to fix it and this is only attempt #1
Thanks
