Default [Sloved] ls swap wrong balancer?

I almost have the LS fully bolted into the car, and i noticed that there is no room for the belt under the harmonic balancer. Is an smaller balancer needed? If not what balancer should I be using?

There is a lot left to do, but I don't want to add anything else if I need to pull the engine and change the balancer.

The balancer is from a c5.

Update
I solved it by swapping the mount adapters left to right.

I made this thread last week http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...-your-c4s.html
Why didn't/don't you post in it and ask your questions about C4/LS conversions there?

How can you have clearance for the harmonic balancer but not enough for the drivebelt which sits in the pulley/grooves? Can't you lift the engine by a quarter of an inch and slip the belt on?

I have a 25% underdrive pulley on mine with about 1.7 inches of clearance under it. I didn't try installing the engine with the stock crank pulley.
Your engine probably sits a bit lower than mine too.

There's already an informal LS swap thread in the General Forum:

Depends on what year car you have, what motor you have, etc.

As mentioned there are UD pulleys, or you can space up your motor mounts. Many of the SFI balancers are slightly smaller and safer.

I have a 1993 6 speed. The engine is afaik a early 2000s 5.3.
I have Doug's Headers Engine Swap Mounts SK100.

I did start look at a few of the swap threads, and they looked helpful but I did not see any mention of what balancer was used.
It looks like a lot of the swap pics use the same diameter balancer?

Later when I go to do some work I will measure the balancer, and double check how I installed the mount adapters.

Are you using the stock LT1 frame mounts to the engine? If so, how old are they?

When I did the swap on my '92, the stock rubber frame mounts sagged so much the balancer hit and the old pan was close. I ended up going with Solid mounts from a forum member and the ATI SFI balancer and have enough clearance now.

I imagine the 5.3l came out of a truck, did you keep the truck spacing on the accessories with the truck balancer?

The mounts are about 1 and 1/2 year old factory replacements.
I did not keep the truck spacing, and changed to a c5 or maybe c6 balancer.
It also looks to me like the mount adapters I used place the engine lower then the adapters I see others using. I might need to swap them left and right.

Update
It is about a 7.5inch balancer.

Update2
Here are some blurry pictures

Flipping the mount adapters left to right solved it.
