Default 383 LT4 Hits the dyno Wednesday!

For those who are not familiar with my car and situation, I have a 1992 corvette that I have been building for a couple years. It has a 2 bolt billett splayed main lt1 block, forged crank, rods, pistons and its 10:2:1 compression. I have a big cam but it is ground for a blower! I have AFR 210 heads on it and a port matched GMPP LT4 intake. It has a TPIS 58 mm TB on it . For exhaust I have 1 7/8 ARH long tubes and X-pipe with a magnaflow axleback. Its all 3 inch and stainless.

The car is a M6 with a D44 with 3.54 gears. I originally built this thing for a Procharger. I had a P600B on it up until about a month ago. It had a bearing failure and cracked the center section. I did just order a New D!SC for it and I should have it back on the car within a couple of weeks.

With the help of Greg Carroll at blower works we have tuned the car to Run NA so I could continue to drive it and learn some in and outs of tuning. As of right now we have the 1 bar tune dialed in perfectly! The Air fuel is perfect and it pulls hard! This Wednesday I am taking the car to Green Bay and I am putting it on a dynojet. We are curious to see what The RWHP is as of now! My plan is to Dyno it NA, then dyno it with the D1SC and intercooler and then Dyno it with no mechanical intercooler at all and just some 50/50 meth water injection!

I am taking a guess and I am saying it will make around 400 RWHP on all motor . I will post Dyno sheets from this first session as soon as it is done!

Are we supposed to guess? I'd guess 360-375 RWHP.

Hard to guess without the cam but a 383/210 head should get you somehting decent for sure. Every think of doing a full port to the intake, its right in front of you. Keep us posted!

Got a Snow meth system sitting here collecting dust if youre in need

Eh, Its not really a guessing game per say. I just figured i would post my plans lol. I never meant to run the car NA but with the procharger failure I figured WTH. why not.

I know alot of guys on here are going 383 these days and tons have HP questions. So I will post the sheets when its done wendsday.

The cam Is a custom grind from howards cams. I cant remember the exact specs but its something like 227-241 550-570 with a 115 LSA. I have shaft mount 1.6s and turn alot of RPM.

Thanks for the offer on the Meth. I have a AIS kit with a progressive controller already in the car. Just waiting to use it! lol

I think you are right on around 400 rwhp/ 375 rwtrq. Hopefully you are going to dial it in on the dyno. That's the reason for the dyno. I have a dyno session for my rebuilt Lt4 on Aug 8th. Interested in seeing your numbers.

I may do a little more tweaking but this is just a temporary NA tune.I really want to see what kind of power it is making because it sure feels pretty stout for only a 10:2.1 engine with a blower cam. The D1sc will be here soon and thats what I am really looking forward to!

I'm curious for sure. I will do the same thing. Dyno it NA and then boosted just because I want to know. I'm only at 9:1 on my build though. Good luck.

383/210 combo easily should get-em 510 ft-lbs & 450-475 maybe more H.P. Figure ave 18% to 20% loss should be 401 HP to 424 FT-LBS at the Wheels/SAE on a Dyno-Jet
Ex-trud Hone that baby after the TB all the way through the Heads
A-Lot More and would give my modified Z06 C5 a good run for the Money and I really don't know what I'm talking about, I've just been Lurking on this site and I'm trying to talk like u guys and act like I know what I'm talking about. I do plan on doing the same combo soon

I am going to Beyond Redline in Green Bay. They have a nice dyno and alot of my buddies get stuff done there. I have never heard a bad thing about them. I did the tunning on the car myself with alot of help from greg@blowerworks. Whatever you do- STAY AWAY FROM DONE RITE PERFORMANCE- In mosinee wisconsin! That place is Terrible!

Yeah, I'm going turbo. You have nicer goodies than I do and a bigger cam with more compression. I hope you top 400 rwhp. I'm kinda hoping for 400 fwhp. Just a nice round number. LOL
Mine: 383 splayed cap, forged recip assy. 9:1, ported factory heads, LT1 intake, 1.75 LT's
Turbo cam is 224 224 570 605 114LSA Being a single pattern cam, it probably won't respond all that well NA.

Good luck and have fun.
