Default started out with widebody..now complete redo

Well like the title says, started small and as usual its turned into more. I have two threads going. one for the rear-end upgrade I'm doing and one for the wide body I made.. seems a little selfish to have a few threads going for the same car so I'm just going to post all my updates and complete build in this thread. if you want a recap of what I've done so far(I'll post a couple pics from the two other threads in here) you can check the links otherwise stay tuned to see where this goes

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...nance-etc.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-g...or-my-car.html

the first three pics of the wide body I made. As far as what I've done to the rear-end so far. parts have been pulled, blasted, cleaned and painted. for this initial phase I purchased and planned on just doing yukon 3:54 gears, complete poly bushing kit, upgraded the fuel pump, B&M shift kit and kyb suspension.

with the car being pulled apart as far as it was.... I just kept going and decided to repaint(sapphire metallic blue, already had a gallon in my barn screaming for me to use it) and rebuild the motor with some tasteful upgrades. engine will get new cam, worked heads and intake(ported and bigger valves) pcm tune, long tube headers and electric water pump.... oh and air foil for an extra 15hp

I should be painting by this weekend.

How many cars do you have torn apart there? The wife would absolutely kill me if I had more than one apart at any given time.

Well im not one to have open ended projects but my daughter drove the vette and a brake line popped and when i got under there to check it out.... I seen to much stuff that needed updating. I cant stand to have a vehicle in that condition so here i am.

The car to the left is a friends and getting an extremely built supercharged 3.8 motor(done ill try to attach a pic) the blue one on the rotisserie is mine and its getting a 3.4l turbo. Im putting that one back together now. It will have a full lamborghini diablo interior as well. And then i have a one off kit car(for daily driving) im building that will blow the doors off all three of these car that looks very similar to lightening mcqween from "cars"

Very nice flare in the rear. That's certainly an area the stylists could have done better job on. The front has such a nice shape and the rear doesn't compare.

well i put some color on it today. really hard to get a good pic of the paint color but i did take a close up so you can see the metallic kind of the color very bummed out about how my paint went on. I've painted quite a few cars and i just could not get this paint to not come out clumpy very disappointing. anyone know if letting the paint sit for about a year does anything to it. it was a never opened can and there was no clumps in it but it just did not want to spray smooth for me, i strained it and it look fine.... anyway

Did you use the correct reducer for the ambient air temps you were spraying in?...Also, paint material has a shelf life after being mixed and can go bad even after never being opened.

That is seriously amazing skill there.

Looking fantastic, have you picked your wheels out yet?

GM should have made all of our cars like this!

Thanks, im liking it.

I have not picked out wheels yet. Corvette rims all look the same. Zo6 style or style on my car.... Im just not liking the selection. I did talk to a few wheel makers and i just cant justify paying a minimum of $2800 just for the rims for a $10k car. Im leaning toward buying a non vette style i like and have it widened. Plenty of 11" rims i like that i would only have to add an inch to.

Got some stuff put on this morning... For those who have do e these kind of projects you know how good i feel about just getting the gas tank back on lol also got the underbidy painted black now as well.
