Is this an issue?
Hi
Yesterday afternoon arrived home after an hour of mixed highway-city driving and by the moment I turned off the engine, the coolant digital gauge was reading 204 °F. I opened the hood, touch the recovery tank and note the coolant inside at room temperature.
While driving in city traffic, temperatures are completely normal. When the primary fan turns on, the temp drops quickly and keeps ranging between 196 and 213°F (fan on at 212)
On highway, temp keeps all the time around 194°F
The levels in surge and recovery tanks are correct and the car (standard 93) never overheats.
Drained the old and added fresh coolant 3k miles ago.
It´s normal that the coolant in the recovery tank may stay colder, while the rest of the system is working at much hotter temperature?
Thanks in advance
