Default Hurst short throw pics

Just wanted to share a pic of the Hurst Short throw I installed in my '96 Lt4. Bought the car just a few weeks ago through the forum so I also want to give a huge shout out to this forum!

Shifting is awesome! Completely smooth and quick. Honestly out of all the car mods I've done over my lifetime I'd have to say that this one is in the top 3 and worth every penny.

That looks really good, is that a RedLineGoods shift boot? If so, can you tell me how much shorter than stock it is? I recently installed a Hurst shifter in mine and am still running the stock boot. Was planning to order a RedLine boot cut to a shorter length and yours looks perfect to me, I'd like to duplicate that look on mine.

It is from Redline. Very happy with it. I actually ordered it to be 1.2 " shorter than stock but when it arrived it was the same as stock. I love how it sits though and not sure it I would have liked it better shorter or not.

Interesting, I thought it was shorter. It's not nearly as bunched up as my stock one is. I guess I'll just order the stock size then. Thanks.

Looks good! I really didn't care so much for that mod so I no longer have it installed...which means I have one if anyone is looking for one.

Thanks for the comparison pic. Is the Redline boot a thicker material? Maybe that would explain how it lays so much better.

Probably about the same. But nothing like brand new leather vs the old stiff boot. I should have took a pick of the way it sat in the car prior.

Here's what my stock boot looks like with the Hurst shifter. Yours definitely looks way better.

I also bought a Hurst shifter for my 96. Not sure if mine is the short one. It measures 7-½" rod threaded and other side is a 3" connection bracket(?). Are there any mods required? Any & all help appreciated.
Ken

I used the instructions that Hurst provided and think that had a forum post that helped too. Was a slight pain in the *** and I recommend following it to a "T"

Send a pic of what you have and I'll let you know if it's the same kit.

This is will be my first mod on my 94. I can't believe how long the stock throws are. I ripped the boot right out of the console when I took the car home last Saturday.
