I would like to get new seat covers and would prefer to have the original cloth covers. I know that no company seems to produce them. Does anyone know if the fabric is available anywhere?

Since I have the cloth seat covers, that question has also entered my mind. I have not looked into it, but I think an auto upholstery shop would be able to come up with something. It never hurts to ask...

I have an 86 also and wanted to also replace mine. I was told that in order to have cloth I would have to use the originals for a pattern and make them.

was told GM stopped producing them before 1990.

I am having them re-done in leather for the same price the shop wanted to do cloth.

After quite a bit of looking, I found an upholstery shop in Santa Ana CA that had stock of 1986 Saddle colored genuine GM fabric! Just what I was looking for! I know that's a long way from Niagra Falls, but maybe with some diligent searching, you might be so lucky! I too, prefer the fabric interior to the hot, slippery leather!
