Default California smog legal exhaust help.

Hi everybody, I've been looking into a new exhaust system or better sounding mufflers for my 1993 vette. I live in CA, so as you can imagine, exhaust mods are very strict here. Currently I have a set of magnaflow mufflers, but that's it. I'm just wandering what I can get away with here, in terms of smog legality.
Thank you.

You might get more responses asking in one of the California Regional forums.

Good luck!

Dougs makes some nice smog legal shorties with en EO for your car
They fit nice.
Have personally seen close to 400rwhp run through them so ignore the long tube or forget it comments.

Long as you have "ca" type cats you can do anythign with the catback you want long as it runs out the back...and doesnt get TOO loud to the boys in blue. They usually leave domestics alone unless youre driving like a fool at 2am

I think Doug's Shorty headers are the only emissions legal headers available with a CARB, (California Air Resource Board Executive Order number).

You need to have the cats as from the factory. From the cats back you can get away with most any system. I have an 85 with a Magnaflow cat back system moded from an 86 system. I pasted no problem. I did ask if I would be ok to use pre cats like an 86 and was told no, up to the cats it needs to be factory. Those headers do look tempting.

After hearing the obviously non-stock mufflers on my '84, my smog guy pulled out his creeper and verified that my cat con had the correct part number on it! Passed smog with flying colors!
