Default Pro Flo XT Intake with DIY adaptor for TPI Throttle body

Here is another way to install the Pro Flo XT on a 350 C4 Vette. I made an adaptor so I could use my TPI TB and cables. I also reused my Holley SP fuel rails and regulator. You need a small HEI distributor and remote coil. I used a TPIS Mini ram water neck. With this setup, hood clearance is no problem, about a ½ inch at the TB. (See the photo with the yellow clay on top of the TB). I made the adapter with a 2in hole saw and a drill press. I cut off the upper tab for the LS TB with a circular saw and a plywood jig bolted to the manifold to cut straight. I drilled and tapped the side of the intake to mount a Holley throttle cable bracket to the driver’s side of the intake. I made a plastic wedge to get it to line up with the TB. I haven’t had it dynoed but my SOTPs meter feels good.

Nice. 10 years ago guys would have stood in line all day to get that set up. Including me. Not that many guys modding l98s now. Anyway, looks damn good.

Curious also. Looks like an improved LT1 type intake.

Oh that's sexy! Can't wait to hear the results. I have been thinking more about utilizing a traditional small block versus going LS when I get around to getting my car. I always loved the look of the tpi motors.

Default Excellent!

Very nice work! The more I look into the costs/time associated with swapping a LS and hooking it to my ZF, the more I want to go with a Pro Flo in the future and call it a day.

Yes. I cut the 3/4in plate with my chop saw and it's not too expensive.
If you make a mistake just fill it in with JB weld.

I had to buy a piece of 10mm thick plate to make the TB adaptor, and made a themostat housing blank plate with the leftover, then had to go to a friends workshop to find a scrap piece to make the throttle bracket plate, I was cleaning out the back of the garage last week and found a 4 metre long (13 feet) by 10mm thick piece of alloy amongst the scrap steel !

Any updates on your car? How is it driving? Dyno or track numbers? Would you do it over again or would you suggest something else?

Thanks!

Here's my setup! I'm wondering if an L88 hood will have enough clearance! hmmmmm. Thoughts?

I know this is a very old thread but I am hoping Dave_85 will see this.

I want to do this exact same modification but want to know how he went about centering the adapter plate on the Pro Flo XT manifold so when he drilled/ground out for the dual throttle blades so it was centered.
