Default Headlight motor will not shut off

Obviously the headlight is not being flipped to the proper position, but the motor will not shut off even with the ignition off. Is there some sort of switch that needs to be made before the headlight motor will shutdown? Thanks fo any help.

Sounds like the control module.

What year is the car?

Could be stripped gears (early cars) or plastic bushings ('88 and newer) turned to dust. Both are very common problems.

My 89, the motor seemed to do the same thing.... first one went, then the other. I put new brass gears and those plastic bushing things and they have worked flawlessly since. if it never shuts off, I'm with Kimmer.

Take the motor off unplug it and take it to the other side, unplug that motor and plug in the non working motor. If it does the same thing it's the module and if not it could be the gears.
