Reset Blend Door Actuator - 1988 C4
Hi all,
I have a 1988 35th Anniversary C4 with ECC unit.
I have replaced the blend door actuator/motor but need to reset the parameters.
I plugged the new motor in while not connected to the heater. When I turned the ignition on, the motor arm moved all the way anti-clockwise and stopped. I gather there is a point of no return for the motor and I need to reset the stop/start point.
How do I do this?

The blend door motor needs to be connected to the blend door to calibrate. You need to reset the HVAC controller to do this. Remove the CTSY/CLK fuse for a second or so. That will cause the HVAC controller to forget the calibration and it will recalibrate when you turn on the ignition.
The HVAC controller does the calibration by moving the blend door as far as it will go in one direction and then moving it as far as it will go in the opposite direction. It remembers those two positions for future reference.
