My brake pedal is high and hard and under moderate braking ... usually short quick stops, the brake light in the instrument cluster illuminates only when I am braking and then I get a "Service ABS" and "Service ASR" light.

The brakes have plenty of pad left on both the front and rear and the fluid is full, kinda of dark brown, but full. I am going to do a brake fluid flush anyway ... any ideas.

Fluid level is critical in the master cylinder. The fluid should come up to the very top. If is is just an ounce or so low, when you brake hard, the fluid movement from braking will cause the lights to come on.
