You can usually ask(phone/email) the manufacturer what works with their product, but in this case you can just go to comp cams website and it'll say what works with those springs.

787 is the cheaper common retainer

787 is a normal 7deg retainer, but idk what size the valve stem is on vortecs

yes they can help. I bought comp beehive springs, retainers and keepers from Summit. They were helpful.
