Default Engine Valley Part?

Opened up the guts on my '93 LT1 and was wondering what this part in the pic is/does? It is located in the back of the valley towards the firewall.

Working on cars for years and couldn't figure this one out.

Anyone know? Thanks in advance

That would be the oil pump drive. There's a toothed gear on it that runs against the cam shaft, which then turns the shaft for the oil pump.
