Low Profile Floor Jacks
What is everyone using? I lowered my car and now I cant get my regular floor jack under there.
There are low profile jacks I see but I am not trying to spend a lot of money on a jack.
Thanks!

Do a Google search for "Low Profile Race Jack", and you will see lots of options.
I don't remember the name brand of mine, but it looks similar to this one

They've got a low profile racing jack on sale right now under $90.

Is there something wrong with driving onto ramps before you slide your jack in place? I like to see exactly where my jack is fitting under the car, so even a low profile jack doesn't solve that problem.
(I made my own ramps.)

I did it with the lo profile jack and I put all 4 corners on to jack stands. Worked ok.
I am going to buy a set of ramps as well in the future. The ramps would be pretty useful most of the time I think.
The jack stands have worked out really well though. I've had it up for about 6 weeks now while I work under the car.

Just remember lo profiles only lift so far. Mine will go 14-3/4" which is about 2" lower than a standard jack. 2" may make a big difference when placing jack stands. I have the Harbor Freight jack and paid $59 with a coupon. They are presently $69 according to a recent ad email.

I saw a piece of wood in my garage and decided to roll the front driver side wheel on it for the extra clearance.
Thanks again. I will get a low profile jack one day.

I got this one from HF and I love it.

Besides being low, it also raises to almost 24" (about 4" more than most others). It only has a rating of 2 tons but you are only lifting 1/2 your car at a time

It's low profile just gets under the front air dam (my air dam is slightly worn to be honest) to reach the engine crossmember!

Harbor freight jack here too. Another tip is to cut a few pieces of wood with 45deg. cuts on one end.
Two pieces parallel to each other and one or two shorter pieces on top also with 45 deg cuts on the end.
Makes a nice platform to drive up onto and easy for most jacks to fit underneath.
I'm sick and not thinking straight, hopefully that makes sense.

No, but this might:
Cut four one-foot lengths of 2x12's, angling the cut on one end to make a little "ramp". Drive your lowered Vette up on the four pads and you'll have room for a standard floor jack to get under the frame.

I used the Harbor Freight low profile aluminum one for a couple years. I only paid $70.00 bucks for it on sale so I guess it did ok. When I needed a new one I found the Arcan XL35 at Northern Tool. It was on sale for $129.00 then I found a $20.00 coupon code online so I got it for $109.00. Heavy duty jack and I bought it not only because it gets underneath the Corvette just fine, but I work on a few friends vehicles also and it's heavy duty enough. The only downside to it is it's pretty heavy.
