Wiper Blade Replacement - 94
So for the last 10 years I have been using refills. Soon my supply will run out and as far as I know they are not available anymore. The blade assemble itself is fastened to the arm with a clip which is not really removable. The blades are not designed to be replaced like the rest of my other vehicles with the "U" looking insert on blade assemble.
What is the correct approach to do whatever is needed to get the wiper "arm" to a point where you can use a new current wiper whole blade replacement?

I bought these last year at O'Reilly's for my '96 and they fit perfect.
Trico Wiper Blade Refills: Part# 45-200
Their website shows them as still available.

Thanks for the information. I guess there's life after the last replacement.
O'Reilly's is in town here and I will check it out further. That number shows a 20" length blade. I use a 18" so I will look for another number for the correct size.
I miss the $2 blades we use to get. I used that size on most of my cars but at least it is still available. Get with the times.

Ive not yet found the whole wiper assembly that will stay on my arm as supplied. The hole in the assembly for the arm pivot pin always seems too big and I end up cinching the retaining clip with a zip tie to get it to stay on. Otherwise it will sling it off pretty quick.
Anybody else experience this? Any whole blade assembly work without falling off?

Here you go!
These are genuine AC-Delco metal arm/wiper blades, like the ones your C4 came from the factory with. They work great, won't fall off and will clear the hood just like the OEM ones did. AC-Delco part # 8-2202 GM part # 89001009

A bit of confusion on my part with the numbers. For whatever reason I had been using 18 inch wipers on the car for 10 years with no problem. Don’t remember where I got the initial information but that’s what I stuck with. Upon a re-examination of the wiper metal blade itself, I can now see where it can take a 20 inch blade. I'd just been a bit shorter all these years and was OK with it.
O'Reilly's does not carry a 18" blade and the 20" seems to be the correct part. AutoZone said they do not carry refills, just saying. So I guess in the future I will migrate to the longer blade as all is well.
