Default Headlight motor point set needed

Hi folks , The points inside my left front C4 headlight are scorched
I naturally filed them to clean them up a bit with temporary success

There are actually 3 points in one electric motor housing unit

the gears are just fine and I replaced all three relays including a new master light switch

I can hear slight repeat clicking of the point sets but it's a no go

I cannot locate these points ... can anyone help me source these

the dealer does not carry them

help please
Cheers
Lawrence from So Cal

If you're talking about the brushes, go to a hobby shop, buy some that are close in size and file to fit.

The direction reversing contacts are part of the housing. I don't think it would be possible to find replacements except in a used motor.

The 3 points are 1 small unit and they do come out of the housing

however

I think that you are correct ... I will probably have to settle for a complete used setup

cheers

Here is a picture of an 84 headlight motor showing what Cliff and I assumed you meant by points. These contacts open when the rotation of the unit hits a stop and shifts the armature to open one of them.
Where are you getting your three points that are removable??

I have the headlight motors from my 85 that I do not need. I don't know enough about them to be comfortable selling them to you but you can have them if you want them. Just pay for shipping from Marysville CA.
