Default Who would be interested?

I'm looking for interest in c4 1 7/8 & 2" headers. They would be stainless.

At what point would these headers benefit over the 1 3/4"?

That is a large tube size for a small block street engine.

As in bigger is not universally better.

The whole point of headers is improved evacuation of spent gasses; the pulsing of the prior cylinder's gasses pulling the next; optimized for a certain volume and RPM. Like virtually anything, the choice is a compromise away from the ideal, so too-large header tubes can lessen power produced, which is why the prior posters questioned as they did.

camshaft valve timing plays a part in this , But most small blocks 406 and larger should see gains with a step style header 1 7/8 to 2" .. On a power adder especially Nitrous the bigger primaries are a MUST. The small block in my car has a set that are 2" to 2.125" to 2.250" and 4" collectors. The car will be a Dog with this header running it off the bottle, but the way i'm setting my car up you Literally have to spray it to load it up on the trailer . lol

Yes most 406+ CI motors could benefit from a larger header. Especially with the heads now day that flow like they do.

I am gaging interest and will start to fabricate some of these if there is enough interest....otherwise it will be a one off ( for me) hahaha

Most likely your not going to find much interest and "one off" is going to be the case.

Just call and talk with Kerry Hitt.

He bought most all the jigs and hired Jere Stahls lead fabricator of 20yrs.

I had a set of 2" primarys built just before Stahl closed his doors and they are very nice. Took a little bit of work on the inside radius of the number 5 primary tube for plug clearance but otherwise they were perfect.

This year I shortened up the primarys to 28" (from 34") and installed some slip on merge collectors. Just to kill a little TQ on the bottle.

Will
