Default New project for my 85 - upgraded Holley ECM

Dyno results to follow after further tuning tomorrow.....keeps putting down 10 extra hp each time we bump the total timing up 2 degrees...

also managed to completely blow the heater core on several dyno runs trying to dial it in.....it was already beginning to leak.....now it's pouring coolant out the bottom....needless to say.....stopped the pulls;

Not sure it's going to make more power, just better car to enjoy in general hopefully when complete.

More to follow.......

Well,

Here are the results on the dyno....not exactly the hp levels I was looking for but certainly torque levels. I would have traded one for the other I guess, but overall I guess not bad. Was not looking for more power per se, but looking for better tuning capabilities, driveability, and I think I accomplished that. This is much more sophisticated that the 870 ECU. The car is now a MAP sensor rather than MAF; the MAF on the 85's are themselves a one hit wonder making parts more fun to find by the day, so this does away with that issue.

More to follow.

I have heard some good things about the Holley HP system. I was thinking of replacing my outdated Accel DFI with this unit. Good job.

Sounded good. Seems like a pretty good performer for what it is. I didn't stare at the graph too long but your one video shows it winding up to 6400 rpm or so. Does it maintain a pull that long or does it nose over at a certain point before that? What were you expecting for results?

...... Seems a bit lean on the dyno graph ... if you can , try to shoot for 12.7 AFR under 5500 rpm then up to 13.0-13.2 above 5500 til redline ..........

You know, we ran about 9 dyno pulls, changing timing, fueling etc....we started out with about 20 hp less when we over it at 13:1....you maybe right...was trying to squeeze as much possible w/o getting too lean...there is probably still more somewhere and you may have the answer 👍...will be playing with it more now that it is easier!

Yes, it was spun up that high but was dropping off after 6000, a little sooner actually....but I was hoping for 350rwhp....was not expecting 370+ rwtq however...a few years ago it was at 340rwtq....same motor...no other mods

I think you will like it....the dominator is a step above and is the top dog but you may not need it ...usually for computer controlled transmissions....

Iam happy with it so far!
