Code 42 in a 1984
Hi Everyone,
Just purchased a very clean '84 automatic car. During the test drive with the seller, the Check Engine light came on, and that same time, the car stumbled a little bit. The stumble cleared and the car drove normally after that, CEL on and all. One paper clip later, a code 42 was found in the ECM, but nothing else.
To clear the code, I pulled the ECM fuse for about 10 minutes, but when I started the car, the CEL immediately came on again. So, I disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes, and still the same result.
Any idea what this is or how to clear it?
BTW- That CEL got me $600 more off the price of the car, so I'm pretty sure I'm ahead on this.

Edited the original post..I had forgotten to let the code 12 flash 3 times. After that, it did display code 42.
Any obvious wires I should be checking?
