Default Fuel injectors and the FIRST manifold...

I've just installed a 383 cui with a FIRST manifold in my '87 vette, but I still need to buy fuel injectors, which I don't know much about

The manual at www.firstfuelinjection.com only says:

Any Bosch style injector may be used
Does that include the racetronix injectors?

Ronaldo, I have a very well built (IMO) 383 in my 90 Vett and I'm using the Bosch 30 LB injectors.

Under heavy load the 24 LB injectors won't provide the engine with enough fuel to support the actual request.

......... How much horsepower does your 383 produce ? ....... The link you provided to the RaceTronix injectors indicated 42lbs per hour ... I seriously doubt that you need that much injector ..... If you are estimating HP be realistic .........

My own guestimate would be around 30-32 lbs injectors, I'll ask the tuner for what he would prefer...

My question was more about the racetronic injector would physically fit the FIRST manifold?

My 383 should be a copy of this engine, only a 383 of course and with a FIRST instead of a superram

I ran a 383 for years with an extrude honed SuperRam with 30lb injectors. They were perfect and was able to run low 11's @ 6200 rpm.

...... The pics in the link were kinda small but I'd say yes they should fit ... they appear to be the same body type as all the OEM , Lucas and Bosch injectors ............

Yes, I really don't think I'll need anymore than that

Just out of curiosity, how was the composition on that 383?

i originally put some used Bosch (thin body) 36# in my First. fit fine. switched to 30# Trick Flows (fat body). Also fit fine. runs cleaner and easier to tune with the smaller injectors, however the Bosch ones are suspect. Raising the fuel pressure will increase the flow a little if needed. Also a 383.

10.5 Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, nitrided cast gm crank, Crane hydraulic roller 222/230 .6xx lift, Holley 20 degree heads with an extrude honed SuperRam manifold. I raced this setup for years with well over 1000 passes on the motor. The motor still resides under the hood of a friends C3. If a n/a motor is built correctly, it doesn't have to be all forged. If it us run within it's build limits, it can make good power and be very reliable.
