Storing 1.6 roller rockers
My friend delivered a set of comp cams 1.6 roller rockers that he had laying around. I don't plan on installing them in the immediate future. I am in the process of finding someone to replace my heads and cam. Until then should I store them in a container filled with oil or just leave them dry.
I can't seem to find a direct answer even when I ask Mr. Google.
I would think keeping them in oil might be better, but it is strictly a guess.

No real reason to keep them in oil. If they are clean, simply put them in a box after wrapping them in plastic. Keep the box in a dry place.

put them in a 1 gallon zip lock freezer bag, pour in about 6oz of engine oil, squeeze all the air out of the bag, zip and store in a place where they won't get banged around.

If the parts are still a little oil covered, leave them that way and scrounge up some VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) paper that you get with tools or metal parts sometimes. It is a treated brown paper wrap that emits a oily vapor that will basically creates a moisture barrier. and/or get a couple of thos desicant baggies- put in a small box and store indoors.

I don't see why they would need special treatment, they sit on dealers shelves for months in a box ...Just make sure to soak them in oil for a day before installing them......WW
