DYNO RESULTS! 385 Superram
Finally got around to taking my 90 6 speed to a dyno tuner. I went to Cincyspeed in Cincinnati Ohio and couldn't be happier with the guys that work there. Tracy tuned my car, and he spent 3 hours dialing everything in. The first hour and a half was spent trying to get the autoprom to work with my computer. He did four pulls and by the fourth pull the car was pretty heat soaked. Anyways the number at the end of the day came out to:
SAE corrected: 402whp/445wtq on a dynojet
Here is a link to my initial build thread with info and parts listing:

Once I put on some sticky rear tires I'll be off to the strip to see what kind of numbers I get. Will be interesting to see what kind of MPH I can achieve.
***EDIT*** I added a video of my run

Thank you! I was surprised by those numbers. Mike's cam and tracy's tune impressed. Tracy only did 30° of advanced timing to keep the engine safe during autocross events.

Hp seems to peak at around 5500. I would carry the shift point to 6k or so. The rpms will drop to below 5k and the pull hard. I know my motor was different than yours, but when I was running a 383 SuperRam combo I shifted at 6200 (auto) and the car ran consistent 11 teens

You could put that in second gear whether auto or m6 and leave it if AUTOX. There is plenty power available. I hope you did put a road race pan on that beast if you are going to track or AUTOX? You don't want to spin the bottom end!!

I agree! In the past second gear is all I needed. To be honest I didn't even think about a race pan.

Awesome thanks, I'll start there when I go to the strip and adjust shift points as needed.
I added a video of the last run. At the end of the video you can see all four run results on the monitor. The first run he cut short because of the air/fuel ratio. He fattened it up and then took it a little further. The last two runs he took it all the way to the top.

That makes sense, and I know nothing about race pans. Time to do some research. Thank you for the advice.

I run the Canton Road Race pan on my 91 and 96. It is called a 7 quart pan. However, of you do get one, you will want to put 6 quarts in the pan and calibrate your dipstick. Then start up the car and finish filling as necessary. I was overfilling at first and kept having to empty my catch can after every event. Finally called Canton and told me the pan just held 6 quarts and they figured another quart in the filter and block.

Very impressive numbers. Almost too good. Looks like your combo is perfectly balanced. It goes to show a balanced assembly is better than just big parts. There are tons of guys on the thirdgen site that on paper should be making more power than your setup and they don't even break 400hp or tq and they run stealth rams...
Good going!

I would first put 6 quarts in the pan. Then calibrate the dipstick. After that you could put half quart in the filter and start and let run a couple minutes. Then check the dipstick and add to the full line. Total capacity will depend on the filter you use too. The most important thing to do is calibrate that dipstick with 6 quarts in the pan.
