what does it take to burn my stinking tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have so many mods on my car and it still wont light up the tires, could the car be running in closed loop mode and killing my performance?

Lighter fluid and a match works every time If its an auto you can cheat and hold the brake standard rev it to 3k and dump the clutch. Poor a gallon of water in front of the rear tires.
Better yet add some information about the car.

1990 rebuilt motor and trans (yes auto), 355, head work, cam, open air box with KN, ported plenum, 52mm throttle body, edelbrock high flow runners and intake, 24 lb injectors and high flow fuel pump, new tune up parts ( sensors, plugs, distributor cap/rotor 8.5mm MSD plugs, MSD coil, MSD 6al box) exotic muscle long tube headers & X pipe, no CATs, true dual exhaust, corsa CAT back 3:54 gear ratio and a supposed tune. No traction control on mine dont know if thatwas an option and brand new 295s on the rear. I dont want to destroy my tires but every once and again its fun to drive the car like a corvette!

Sometimes I can be doing 20/25 mph and stomp it and break the tires loose and the car feels incredibly strong most of the time it seems to just make a bunch of sweet noise from the corsa,s and its not that impressive. I was thinking maybe the ECM is possibly in open loop and not letting the car unleash all my goodies. I have a friend with a 2001 T/A he wants to run'em but like I said it seems my car runs really strong every once and again.

Also, as long as the car is warmed up, it should respond the same at full throttle in either open loop or closed loop. It exits closed loop/ open loop and runs in "Power Enrichment mode" past I believe 70% throttle.

So far decent upgrades. I would absolutely check your initial timing
With a good tune 3:54 geared, TPI, combo. You should have a burnt-out king. You absolutely do not need a fast setup. That ECU can handle pretty radical setups.

Burning Brakes
Are you sure your transmission is working and setup correctly?
Sounds like you had some work done to it but you didn't give any details. Shift kit, stall converter, manual valve body etc...

Drifting
when I put some mods on mine, it would do nothing....timing was way off....once reset, it's now a tire smoker....my money's on the timing...even a correctly tuned stock c4 should light them up....

It does have a shift kit, great replies I will check timing and explore advancing it a touch more. Also I will check to make sure the dist. is advancing while under throttle. Thanks again for all the comments!
