Default stock 91 coupe with 2.59 gears 1/8 mile time qiucker than i guessed

picked up a 70,000 mile charcoal metallic (417 made woo hoo) 1991 coupe, auto, weak paint and tach inop for $6000 a few weeks ago, anyways took it to 1/8 mile track that's fairly close by.. with 2.59 gears and stock I was guessing about a 9.40 or so.. was pleasantly surprised running a 8.99 at 78.8 mph on first pass,a 9.05 at 75.9 mph and a 9.01 at 76.6 mph...mph was inconsistent but times were....beat my brothers restored $7000 86 coupe mustang (stock 5 speed but 3.73 gears,x-pipe and exhaust and he used a short belt on out last run,his best was a 9.08 at 77 mph,..he has 8 fox bodied mustangs one has run 6.70 at 105 mph in the 1/8th )....... had a 1987 vette coupe with 3.07 gears several years ago that run 9.18 stock ,got it down to 8.40s in the 1/8th mile and ran at a 1/4 mile track once with a best of 13.16 at 106 mph (reduction pulley, hypertech chip, lingenfelter headers, ported plenum, hooker aero chamber mufflers and no cat, gutted air pump,1.6 rocker arms)...I think this car has more potential, I'm hoping to run 7.90s with basic bolt-ons and still have a decent cruiser..

My '92 has 2.59s.... based on my street acceleration,
I just was going to live with the economy provided.
Nice to know at 83, I have a hot-rod.

Thank you. I've thought about selling numerous times, as keeping a shine is a chore, but I'll let the wife, or kids, dispose of it after I'm gone.

if its not on there, you need to put your wifes name on the title also. My wife died two months ago and it cost me 125 bucks to get the title changed over into my name even tho the will said I was to get it. Maybe its different there than in Indiana. Also, make sure ALL your bank accounts have you,or her, as POD (paid on death). I am still trying to straighten out one bank account she had. Hope you live to be 103.

Thanks, ghoastrider1, both names are on all accounts and vehicles, except
stocks. With stock certicicates, if I am the survivor, no change is required.
If my wife is the survivor, she transfers the certificates valued at the date of the transfer, without capital gains applied.

In Missouri we have a option of title on death (the titles in my name but my wife gets it in the event of my untimely demise). Wow didn't really like typing that.
