Default 84 storage compartment doors broken

How do you replace just one door?Does the rod at the back come out somehow?

Also how do you take the carpet off and how do you put it back on? Just pull it away and glue back?

Pricey pieces too

I got the locks out and pulled the carpet away those 9/32 bolts aren't easy to get out around the edges of the doors.I have to press down on them while turning them I guess because the heads are shallow or not exposed real well unless you press on the socket. Maybe Im missing something.

Are you talking about the storage compartments behind the seats?

yes someone must have thought there was something to steal in them broke the doors at the hinges.Im gluing washers over the broken holes now, finally got it out of the car. Cheap sockets have too much bevel and the screws have a shallow head. A craftsman socket worked ok still wish I had some sockets flush off at the open end.

Going back in tomorrow.

Good gosh, the back hinges broken. I was just thinking about the front part of door. Both of my latches have broken (plastic) on the front part. I just put a Vette cargo cover mat to keep them from making any noise while driving. I guess yours were locked and some one thought the best way to get into them was from the backside. Sorry, I’ve seen the prices for the storage door units.
