Get under the car and see if it comes out from between the bellhousing and the block area. 
if you clean the sides of the bellhousing and make sure no oil is there you will know immediately if its the rear main. Lol

You are correct.....I have the infamous 2 piece rear main, so.....talk about old school small block....

Yeah did the wipe test, and its the rear main.
