Orifice Tube on 1984 A/C- it's not there....?
I give up, I can't find where the orifice tube is on an 84 c60 Vette.
I have seen the diagrams on the net on where it SHOULD be, but my lines curve in the location where it goes into the front condenser and there is no way it's in an elbow.
I ordered a new adjustable one from Amazon but there just doesn't seem to be a spot to put it in.
Could someone point me out theirs please.

I pulled that connection apart thinking it would be obvious in that location but did not see the tube. Unless I didn't look in all the way. Didn't have a flashlight handy but assumed it would be right there. Will pull it apart again and look deep back towards firewall.
Part was AC delco 15-50120 ' professional' tube

An original '84 might have had the orifice in the tube from the condenser to the evaporator but it should be obvious with dimples/crimp to secure the orifice. I would have thought it a drop in to the evaporator tube but maybe not. You didn't have any difficulty separating the threaded fittings on the evaporator tube and the line? Orifice would be in the small diameter tube of the evaporator or the line from the condenser. It would be the lower of the two threaded fittings and the smaller also.

I did not open this line as it is a 90 Degree Elbow that is only 1" long from the line that goes into the condenser. Am I wrong and need to open it up?
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how the 4" plastic part could bend 90 degrees to get into the line. Steep learning curve on all this so I would definitely accept that I'm missing a key ingredient.

Thanks for help all. Just following up with some pics to close the thread out.
Definitely glad I opened it up. Clearly needs replacing if you ask me.
Tube was pulled out from line that is at opposite end of the pliers,
