Deleting cold start injector
OK I am going to be installing some new runners that don't have the cold start and my chip/tune doesn't have it either. So I just have to plug the fuel rail. I know they have a kit for like $30, but I only need the one plug really. I found a old thread on another forum with a link that suggest all I need is an 8an style plug like so http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220831b/overview/

Figured since it's Sunday and it won't ship till tomorrow I'd see if I can confirm all I need is a $3 port plug.

Just some aftermarket runners from the later years that didn't have the cold start injector. I forget when they changed to firing them all instead of the cold start.

The cold start injector was eliminated in 1989. The tune in the ECM was modified to richen the mixture during cranking.

I got the plug from summit today but still have to finish taking the car apart some and install it. Been too biz porting my new runners and messing with other stuff. Soon as I put it on and test it for leaks I'll post my results.

The an 8an port plug is too big, so guess that accel fuel rail is a lot diff. But the stock fuel rail fitting is magnetic(stainless I assume) so I welded it. I removed the o-ring before welding and lubed it up well for the reinstall, but it cut as I tightened the fitting down to test for leaks. So now I need to figure out what size the o-ring is and get a modern fuel safe material.
I also noticed Summit has just the plug part of the kit as well, still $20+ship so it's not like your saying a lot of $ unless your getting other stuff from them already. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rfw-fr10

I figured I could at least test my weld and put some soap on the weld and blew into the other end. No bubbles so at lest I know it's leak free, just need a stupid o-ring now.
