I was looking at the mcleod hydraulic throwout bearing #1345... Says it's for the corvette 6 speed 89-96.. That one should work with the normal style clutch and flywheel correct? Also do I need to use a spacer between the bellhousing and block? I was searching Google and read something about a .100 spacer.. Is that necessary?

McLeod is for a "push style" and you don't just do an Internet order from the usual sources. You call McLeod and work with their tech support to arrive at specific shims after much required measuring. They will stick with you until completed. A year ago or so I was looking at their cataloging and it looked like the custom mounting affair for the ZF wasn't available any longer. There's various 1345 packages.

McLeod could be a good choice and they can either supply you with a package including flywheel OR if a custom flywheel is required they can direct you. I supplied an LSX for an install that required a specialty flywheel before the LSX became popular and they directed me to a specialty shop.

A search for 1345 on the CF C4 community gave 35+ results

Called mcleod and they said they have nothing for that transmission... Ram clutch says they have a hydraulic throwout bearing for it but they said they don't have any info on it working with the older engine.... They said they wouldn't be able to help anymore besides giving me the part number for my trans.. I don't want to be just guessing here.. Are there any measurements I can take to get it right the first time?

The transmission I ordered don't have the shifter assembly... Never knew how hard it was to find one. Anyone here have one they would sell? I really just need the housing... I am going with the short throw shifter but it don't come with the housing..

Anyone have an old 6 speed laying around that I could buy the shifter assembly from? Or know where to send me?

Try LS1tech, lots of F body guys there and Y body owners with tons of spare parts sitting around waiting for a new owner.

I thought about that but I also thought maybe not because I think they only used the zf 6 speed in the 89-96 corvettes..

How much of what's in this image DON'T you have? I may have some or most of what's required. Post a snapshot of the rear of your transmission maybe !!

All of that is missing.. I was going to buy the Hurst short throw shifter but it only has the lever.. I still need everything else in that diagram.

Guessing it's a second hand ZF trans you have? Did the previous owner mention anything about the gearbox in particular? Not wishing bad luck on you but most of the cases I have seen minus the shifter assembly describe some type of "parts only" along with the sale. Seems like people pirate the shifter assembly off the trans.

It was from a salvage yard. It's missing the shifter. I'm assuming they left it with the car or sold separately.. Idk

What was the price for the trans? How long ago did you purchase the trans and does it have a return policy? Just curious. You won't really know until you get it in the car and running but a missing shifter assembly seems a little weird to me. Again, from my own searching in the past, many "parts only" listings and problematic internal issue ZF boxes are sold minus the shifter assembly. They usually go for around $500 or so that I've seen and some shifter assemblies for $300 but that's just on ebay. Asking $800 for a busted ZF sounds a little out there but split up the transmission and shifter assembly and you can get more no problem for the part out.

Just hate it for you to go through all the trouble of collecting ZF specific parts, get everything buttoned up and then it pops out of gear under heavy acceleration or won't go into a gear and then it has to come right back out for a pricey rebuild.

450. I will have a buddy go through it to make sure it's good before I install it.. Hopefully only thing is the shifter.

You might want to try to get your money back if you can.

I'm not going through all the hassle.. I still think I got a deal even if we rebuild it at least I know it should last. Like I said I have a friend who will look it all over for me and be sure it's good before I install it. If I can get a shifter assembly I'll be set.. As soon as I can get a pic of what I need I will post it.

This is what I'm needing. Don't have to have the shifter handle. I'm using a short throw shifter...
