HID Foglight heat

Hot Foglights
However, if you're concerned about heat, think about replacing the HIDs with powerful LEDs. I have 2 C4s, and in the second one I installed some high power LEDs. They aren't as powerful as the HIDs, but they out perform the halogen bulbs that were in there. In another year, I think the technology (power) and dropping price of the H11s or 894s that fit in our fog lights will cross over and out shine the HIDs. (My LED fog lights were about $29 a pair).
Good luck!

Not yet Patrick. My car has been in the shop. I found my ballast connector was bent, straightened it out and they both lit up. Soon as the shop tells me what hell is wrong with my car, I'll buy the LED's(if the repair doesn't drain me)

I have the LED bulbs in there now but they just don't produce enough light for me. The LED bulbs look really good so for something to make the car look good they are great. Thanks for the input I guess I'll put these brand new HID bulbs in now.

I used HID 6000K on The Ghost since 2008, and never had an issue. Recently one of those "died", and ordered some new LED bulbs. If I dont like them, will go back to a HID kit.

LEDs plug right in, as long as you get ones that fit through the opening. Some are a little too big (ask me how I know!).
With HIDs, it's a little more work, but not much. no cutting or splicing, but you may need a cheap adapter harness.
The thing is, LEDs are getting close to HIDs in terms of light output. You can actually buy replacement headlights that are all LEDs, but pricey. Time is on your side as the prices are declining steadily for LEDs.

How many brands are out there? Are they made in US or overseas? Do they have charts for corresponding replacement numbers? Lumen figures for brightness? What or are the better manufactures?
