350 motor problem

Default 350 motor problem

Hi, I doing a project on my car... I put in a 350 motor that is fueled by a 4 barrel carb not fuel injection ... well this what happening it runs fine but when I drive about 3 or 4 miles it starts to act like its running out of gas and there gas in it I can let up on the gas pedal and roll a bit then hit the gas it takes off .. then start all over again it does it when I hit around 50 mph or so I replace the fuel lines but no good .. it idle great does any body a have any idea... need help.. Was the carb tuned for that particular motor?

is the float in the carb ajusted right?

Sounds like the classic symptoms of a clogged fuel filter, to me.

Weak fuel pressure? What kind of fuel pump? Regulated?

you need to check float levels. There is a sight plug on the passenger's side of the front and rear carburetor bowl. The fuel should just slightly trickle out the hole with the engine running. Also check the fuel filter . Your fuel pressure should be about 5-1/2 PSI, lower than than and you will start to run out of fuel with a short period of time.
