Mine is a 464 inch tall deck nitrous SBC. It's probably close to 1000hp on the spray. It runs 9's at 7000ft DA. I have a stock ZF6 black tag that I have been abusing for years. I have never hurt the trans. I dump the clutch at 5K on the NOS and it's never broke. It might be worth a shot for you since it fits right in your car with no mods.

That's where I was coming from, earlier. Since the trans is already in the car, use it...then, IF it breaks, do the work/effort/mods you're thinking of now any way. If it doesn't break, you're money and effort ahead.

There you go! You can use that money you were gonna blow on that T56 towards a solid rear. I hear the D44 snouts can be a weak point when the torque starts getting crazy. How are you planning to keep the IRS but beef it up?

Not sure, still researching and taking all ideas into consideration! Keeping the IRS is a must, a solid axle is not going to help my lap times... I'll have to go with the strongest parts out there and see what happens...

Here's what a broken case looks like. There are aftermarket cases that are stronger if you break yours. I think it's a Gladiator case alot of guys use.

Keep in mind that ^that^ kind of breakage is from tpi 421 vette "hitting" it in a drag strip launch...on the way to his 9 second passes. I highly doubt anyone will be breaking snouts off on a road track.

Might want to add a cooler, but I don't think it will break.

T-56 Magnum will probably survive the big block.
Not sure about the ZF black tag. 700+lbft of torque is pretty hard on equipment!

TOO MANY PEOPLE CONFUSED. My post has been deleted showing a similar engine swap. Good luck on everybody's search finding this kind of conversion and what all it takes!

Now I'm confused; what install? The OP's? I thought the OP was using a aluminum BB? The link shows a cast iron SB/LS.

I was gonna ask the same thing! lol. Cool post anyway though.. Those LSX blocks are heavy as hell, much more than an aluminum BBC. Just a quick update on this thread, I am talking to Shafiroff on the phone tomorrow about how to oil this beast. I'm wondering if they are going to recommend a dry sump set up..

I'm starting to think that "C6-LS2-MN6" post was nothing more than a massive HIJACK.

So I'm going to ask a question I probably have the answer to: this BB going to be carbed? Even fuel injected, I'm sure it'll still be pretty tall. How cool would that be if you could keep the stock hood.....no one would ever suspect a thing, even on the track.

Probably going with Holley EFI. There's a good chance I'll be able to keep the stock hood. That's the plan! Worst case scenario I might need a 2" rise..

I guess this is the thanks I get for trying help and share similar info as to the topic at hand from the OP, never again! I spent 2 hours down-loading pictures and editing videos from my cell phone onto photobucket last night, and then making a whole new thread with a link for everyone in here to view. I DOUBT YOU SPENT 2 HOURS MAKING YOUR INFORMATIVE POST about me being disingenuous with the link (HIJACKER accusation). These kind of swaps are rare and I doubt the people complaining about my "post link" actually have any true substance to share. Since my input was soooo off-topic, please post your YOUR pictures and videos like I did here in this thread to help out. I've taken mine down.

To everyone else who had positive things to say and the various emails I received from the link.... I want to say Thank you.

Why didn't you simply answer my question in my first post to you? Now you're all "bent" about it? I can't believe a question turned out to be so offensive. Yikes.

Now let me see if I understand this: I asked a question, didn't get it answered, the OP had the same confusion I did and asked too....I asked again, and made my commment....which turned out to be true. A hijack. Ya then accuse ME of being "disingenuous", and proceed to lay this gem down;

Nice job.

You build is nice too...no one was "complaining" about it and if they were, please quote where that "complaint" occurred, would you? I was confused as to the relevancy of the link, so I asked. No crime in that.

Now, back to the OP's thead. Awesome build...can't wait to see more details!
