96 corvette auto theft module issues
Greetings,
I recently purchased 1996 corvette convertible with LT1 motor.
Car runs fine, but recently had problems with alarm going off randomly.
So to start from beginning, when I first start the car I have "security" light flashing but then it stops, also recently while I was driving all the lights inside the car came on for a second or two.
Two days a go car was parked in my driveway and around midnight alarm start going crazy, it would go off and stop after while and start going off again.
I didn't hear it since my room is in the back of the house but I even had cops knock on my door at 1 am which freaked me out because one of the neighbors called 911.
So we checked out the car and no signed of trying to break in. Than I walked over to passenger door and try to pull on the handle while car was locked and alarm went off again and of-course by the morning time it drained my battery.
Any idea what to do to fix this issue, I have no idea where to even begin?
Any help is appreciated.

door switches stick on these cars, clean them and work them by repeatedly and rapidly depressing them lube em with aerokroil if you can find it good stuff
or make a spray out of trans fluid and laquer thinner, but keep it off the paint

It sounds as if first of all you don't have an owners manual or you haven't read it. If you have, read it and learn. Do you have and use the PKE FOB? If you don't have an owners manual you can retrieve one here:
https://my.chevrolet.com/vehicle/1996/Corvette
You do NOT need to establish an account to retrieve it.
There are several threads where the "ajar switch" is discussed and the replacement procedure is discussed in most. Here's one with images and you can find many others. You might try lubing the plunger first and then maybe an adjustment of what's there. Avoid any of the mixing of possible concoctions for lubricating. You'll find many threads, read a few before deciding on the "which one to do". There are switches on the lock cylinder that control the alarm also, sometimes it helps to exercise them with key rotations left/right/left a couple times and make sure that the key is "vertical" before removing from the door cylinder.
