1990 ZR1 Bose Gold sound quit all at once
I have been looking for an answer but everything seems to be about bad amps. I don't think it's the amps because everything sounded great then there was a kind of click noise and then just engine electric buzz/humm from all of the speakers. I turned the power to the radio off and the antenna went down then I turned it back on and the antenna went back up and the radio played for a few seconds then the same thing happened with the click and then buzzing again. Anyone know what the problem could be?

One speaker going bad, no problem. 2 is unlikely. If all 4 are doing it, and you did test it and verify it, I would say the problem lies outside of whatever the speakers have in common.

If you ever wanted to ditch the Bose, I would get 2 front and 2 back speaker brackets for NON-BOSE units and rewire it and put a more modern head unit. In future, if you want to get back to the Bose after it has been fixed, you could easily do it since the wiring is intact.

The CDM (Control Data Module) is the part of the Bose system that commonly fails. It is the module between the radio head and the speakers. A failure would cause the speakers and the radio to stop working. In a 91 I believe it's located behind the glove box....it's a pain to get at.
