'89 Buzzed When Turning Ignition
My vehicle takes a few seconds to start but it has never failed to start ever.I got new ignition and door keys recently(I've tried them and they work fine) but when I tried to start the car a loud buzzing noise sounded. I think at the corner of my eye I saw the 'anti-lock' light turn on but I'm not sure. The car started on my second attempt.
Was the buzzing just the VATS system(if yes, why?) Or if it's the starter failing.

Is your alternator charging the battery? is your battery weak? Are you saying you hear a clicking. As in you have a bad starter solenoid? If it was a VATS issue. Turning the key. Does nothing. Except make a few gauges hit the pin.

I believe the alternator and battery are fine. The battery was purchased at the around the end of last year. And it wasn't the clicking sound that happens when the battery is low on juice. It was some sort of buzzing, almost like a siren.

I would think it entirely possible for a "start enable relay" to buzz. Frequently? Not likely. New keys had nothing to do with it, coincidence.
Is this car an AT or a MT?
*** Maybe the KEY IN IGNITION warning alarm/chime - more likely I'd think. Try putting key in ignition and opening door.

A relay more frequently buzzes I believe when there's a low voltage load on it and it's not activated. Relay at rest, switching on would remove the buzz OR that's what came to mind when I thought about it.

I wouldn't be "alarmed" - see the post above where I added the alarm/chime maybe. I just added *** to it.
