Will these wheels fit on my C4?
Hello
Does someone know if the wheels in this auction from a '91 C4 will fit on my '88 C4?
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orginal-Felge...kAAOSwAoRXFTrf
Originally I have these wheels on my C4 with same dimensions 275/40ZR17:
Aprecciate your help! Thank you.

The ad's gone so just basic info/question. Do you know what the backspacing is on your 88? The early ones like my 86 IIRC is 32 while later ones are 55 or thereabouts. I think it was in the 88-90 year range when they switched.
To use later wheels on an early Vette like my 86 would require a spacer to make them fit. Some use them, some don't. I won't but that's a personal thing. When you look at rims you need to know your offset to figure out initially if they should fit or not if they're stock widths.

One more question:
When I look at this link
http://www.mirrockcorvette.com/corve...de-wheels.html
then you can see for year '93 for the 17x9.5 wheel
Rear Wheel Size 17 X 9.5
Rear Tire Size 285/40ZR-17 (275/40ZR-17)
Am I right that on the wheels from the auction above also 285/40ZR-17 tires would fit? It seems to be the same wheel size (17 X 9.5, offset +56mm) .
Thanks very much

You need to be careful on the offset and width. Mine are 8 1/2" IIRC and were less offset than that. Z51 suspension might have had the wider rims while my standard suspension didn't.

Well I bought the wheels. But unfortunately the front wheels are scratching on the brake caliper
the sawblades have 17.2x9.5x56
and the original ones have 17x9.5x56
Here in the calipers lower right edge you can see where it is scratching
and here you see the scratches on the inside of the wheel (I just turned it by hand)
What can I do now? Use some wheel spacer?
But I'm afraid the wheel could get too far outside as they are pretty far outside now already

Buy some loose flat washers and see how much of a stack is required for them to clear. Stack washers on three studs until they clear and see what's required. If you're 5mm or less it likely wouldn't require studs. There's no choice but to try that. I can't imagine needing more than 5mm and I'd think 3mm would do.
12mm flats stacked maybe 3 washers per stud and try!
**I believe a fellow has mentioned some "saw-blades" clear and some don't. I believe he 'clearanced' a set of wheels for the larger caliper rather than add a spacer. Did you have the wheel tightened by all 5 nuts or a couple or just hand tight?

Thank you, yes this sounds good. I tightened all 5 nuts just hand tight and wondered why the wheel is not spinning anymore. But I think it's just a question of some mm. I'll try to find it out

I have sawblades temporarily on my C4 as I'm refinishing my CCWs but I also have C5 brakes on the front.
So with my C5 brakes and 17x9.5 stock sawblades from a 92 I had the exact same issue. I'm using a 5mm spacer and have enough clearance but using oversized or 10mm or 12mm washers should work to slightly space the wheels out but still get more than enough threads onto the lug nuts
