Best fuel to air ratio??????
Hey all,
I have a FAST system on my car and want to tinker with the fuel to air ratio. It is set to 12.5/1 at WOT now. I am running 6 degrees timing.
I have a great ignition system MSD 6AL, blaster coil and 8mm wires with new plugs. I always run 93 octane fuel. I think I'm good to change the AFR. I have read that N/A cars run best between 12.8 to 13.2 also should I advance my timing to around 8 or 10 degrees? How will the knock sensor react? Thanks for all comments

No way to know what's best, unless you test yourself! Only dyno runs can determine beyond the shadow of a doubt what A/F and timing make optimum HP/TQ on your particular engine. If the KS is doing its job, you shouldn't have to worry about serious engine damage as you tinker (within reason). Err on the rich side as excessively lean can destroy the bottom end very quickly--but at 13.2:1, you'd still be well outside the danger zone & safe to experiment.

12.5 works for me at the track.

12.5 to 12.8 was a 10 hp increase on my combo.
