Default Scanning setup for '92 Vette

Hey guys,

Just wanna double check myself here before I go ahead and order any cables.

Right now I'm between:

Moates ALDU1 cable

and

[URL="http://www.aldlcable.com/products/aldlobd1u.asp"]OBD CableURL]

Plan is to use them with the Datamaster SW suite and check out my car.

One major question is: Does anybody know if datamaster will run on a Linux computer with wine? If not no biggy I can push my way through it but figured I'd ask in case anybody had experience with a non-windows machine running it.

Hopefully this combo will work so I can see exactly how she's running and then start messing with some stuff.

Cheers

I always recommend the Moates cable and I think it is cheaper. I've built a page dedicated to using datamaster. I don't know if it will run under Linux but if it's X86 coding it may? Call Datamaster?

Does DataMaster have bi-directional control as well or just the ability to live scan?

It has no bi-directional control, it is only for scanning.
Tunerpro RT has both abilities, with the proper hardware.

Also if you have an android device.. use ALDLDroid, with USB or Bluetooth.

The cool thing is ALDLDroid uses the TunerPro adx and xdf files..

Jeff that's super cool! What kind of usb/bluetooth dongle are you using? And what are the limitations to this if any? Can you stream all the usual data? Mostly looking for the fuel mixtures on each side to figure out if I'm running rich or lean etc

Does the phone or Android device have to have OTG to use this?

To Answer questions..

What ever is in the ADX from Tunerpro works with ALDLDroid

Android needs OTG if using USB.. no OTG needed for Bluetooth

I am using the bluetooth from 1320 electronics

that shot is only one of 4 screens.. many options for display

Ok so I have the ALDLDroid App up and running, my bluetooth dongle attached to the car and recognized by my phone. I'm asking for a little help for somebody to post a $DA2 file, all the ones I've pulled from online are throwing me checksum errors. Anybody have any ideas/recommendations?

you have to silence the CCM.. look at the $8EA that comes with ALDLDroid, it will have the silence commands you need to add to the DA2.

Also try disconnect/connect a couple times

Ok I'll give that a shot thanks! I got it working (mostly) with a DA3 file this morning but it still threw me a couple errors. RPM was correct and I was able to see my MAP and BLM's I'll have to keep tinkering

need a favor here guys, I need somebody who has tunerpro on windows to download the da2.ads file and convert it to an adx file. I don't have access to a windows machine (linux user) so if somebody could hook a brotha up it would be greatly appreciated!

The Da2 file is listed on the tunerpro website. If you pm me i can give you my personal email if that makes it easier to get me the file as opposed to uploading it here some how.
