Default how big should I go?

I have an 85 with a slush box . I'm planning on going to a T5 over the winter. My question is what class is the car likely to be in? If I'm going to be stuck with guys with trailered race car then I will consider much better heads cam etc.

I plan on autocross probably a couple times a year. I have a set of Dart 2 heads I can install. I have a set of 1:6 roller tip rockers I can use as well. The car already has an aftermarket exhaust. The injectors can be had as well as fuel pressure regulator.

What intake? Headers? FPR doesn't matter as much as what size injectors and whether you can get it dyno tuned or somehow tuned.

A question you gotta ask yourself. Am I willing to spend time and money building a car combo that I don't necessarily like, just for the chance to win a plastic trophy?

It's your car, your time, and your money. Why does anybody else's opinion matter?

A T5 being used to autocross? That's a ticking time bomb my friend. They break behind stock 3rd gen 305's.... Not saying they all break but they sure have a bad rep for being weak. Plus autocross won't be easy on it. Good luck with your project!

Agreed! T5 and big? plus auto cross? My previous TA was pushing in the 430HP range. with a worldclass T5 mated. along with 3:73's. I was expecting to have scatter through my floor everyday.. I shifted lightly. letting the engine pull natural. you could tell the trans is WEAK!!!
