Default Stiff clutch pedal?

I have an 88 C4 with the 4+3 and am wondering if a fairly stiff clutch pedal is normal. I owned a 92 ZR1 in the past and I would say this clutch is similar in pedal stiffness.

My point I guess is I understood the ZR1 having a stiffer clutch due to the higher 375 horsepower. My 88 only has 245hp so didn't see the need for such a stiff pressure plate. Was asking for others with similar engine if theirs is pretty stiff. Do you feel better making a comment that is no help at all.

The demand on the clutch is set mostly by engine tq...not "HP". The twisting force generated by the engine is what will force the clutch to slip...not the RPM it's spinning at (for the most part). To that end, the "Tork monster" TPI puts ~340 ft lbs of twist into the clutch, the ZR-1 can muster only 35 more lbs. A little more, but not a lot. So the two cars' clutches don't need to be spec'ed very differently...or they may possibly be the same clutch.

Thank you, didn't look at it like that. Makes sense.
