headers for my 84 Vette

Deleted Heads information. My mistake. I doubt headers will help a stock motor that is RPM restricted on the intake and cylinder heads. It could reduce the gas mileage and decrease torque depending on tube size.

I bought a set of Hedman Elites for my old '87. These are the ceramic-coated versions. Because the car didn't have to go thru smog testing, I bought the version without the AIR fittings. I also installed true duals with an X-pipe and DynoMax UltraFlo mufflers.
The install was easy although I have a 2-post lift in my garage. I tossed the large OEM starter for a smaller Hitachi-style starter from Summit Racing. There wasn't enough room to get the OEM starte back in place with the passenger side header bolted in. The small starter was a plug-and-play install; it came with bolts, worked with either a manual trans flywheel or A4 flexplate and the cables easily reached the terminals on the solenoid.
I did have to build a bracket to support the rear of the alternator and a small bracket to mount the oil dipstick tube. No mods needed for the A/C compressor. It was also a good time to replace plugs and wires.
