ACDelco or Napa ceramic brake pads ?
I'm getting rid of the Hawk street pads on my C5 brakes (they dust and squeak like crazy) and replacing them with ceramic pads.
Anybody have any experience with the ACDelco or the Napa ceramic pads (are there others?) ?

NAPA CERAMIC pads on my 88
They dust just as much as my previous Carbon's, but it is a lighter color
They stop almost as well as the carbons, but they run hot and they produce a lot more rotor wear.
After 33 miles on Deals Gap, I toasted my rotors
Once I get new rotors I am probably going to put the carbons back on
:seeya

Re: ACDelco or Napa ceramic brake pads ? (Mr Mojo)
They are the same ? Ok, that clear things up a bit ..
I'm not so concerned about dusting, brake pads has to dust, but the noise is what I'm trying to get rid off while maintaining very good braking power.
How about Raybestos QS then? Anybody use them ?

Roar,
You're going from one extreme to another. The Hawk pad is a super hard aggressive compound and highly prone to squeaking. If you want good performance braking, less squeaks and don't care about dusting...I'd try Performance Friction Carbon Metallic street or street Z's. They are softer than Hawk but stronger than OEM & capable of track duty. The ceramic pads have two objectives...light colored dust and low squeak. They are NOT a performance pad and they will wear poorly and fade under sports car conditions. IMHO, they belong on a Seville STS or Lexus 4dr.
