Default Rear tire issues

[FONT="Comic Sans MS[/FONT]
Greetings!:

I have a 1984 Corvette coupe and it goes through tires particularly in the rear at least once a year. I am using the 255 50zr 16, BF Goodrich, which is about the only tire you can find for this veto, I am not driving crazy, but it sure wears out tires quickly.

Thanks so much for your advice, it is always top rate and the best!!

As long as those tires are wearing evenly, seems your driving is about par for a Corvette.

If you're experiencing this with only a little driving then I'd be inclined to look at a possible alignment issue. If on the other hand you drive brisk and like to autocross or drag, then it may be normal wear.

More info would be helpful.

BFG only makes a soft tire in that size, You could try a different brand with higher tread wear number something over 300. VR & ZR series tire normally wear out in 20-30k

I agree on possible alignment issue, and/or dragging brake(s), and/or low tire pressures... don't want to overlook the obvious.

^ yes this would be very good information for the thread. OP, how many miles are you getting out of your rear tires before they need replacement?
